Sudeep Chakravarti is Executive Director of the Stepwell Centre for Asian Futures at Ahmedabad University, Professor of Practice at the School of Arts and Sciences, and Chair of the university’s Communications Programme. The ambit of the Stepwell Centre for Asian Futures, a policy and advocacy think-tank, includes maritime affairs, trade and connectivity, energy flows, and the blue economy, in Asia and the Indian Ocean Region.

Sudeep is a longtime observer of South Asia and the Indian Ocean region, particularly foreign policy, geopolitical and geo-economic relations, and conflict and conflict resolution. He has published nearly one thousand articles and columns on these and related areas; and several books related to regional policy and practice, and security. He began his career at The Asian Wall Street Journal, and subsequently held leadership positions at India Today, the India Today Group, and HT Media, before embarking on independent research and writing, political and economic risk consultancy, media consultancy, and engaging with higher education.
